There are lots of things for kids, parents, and families to do during summer break. Here is a breakdown of things to do inside, outside, and around town.
INSIDE
- Draw a picture of something you imaged during the day
- Read a new book
- Watch a documentary about your favorite animal
- Organize the closet by color code, sleeve length, accessories, and shoe type
- Play dress up and role play favorite characters or family members
- Exercise and stretch in place
- Create Pen-Pal notes to mail to local or out of town friends and family
OUTSIDE
- Plant a garden, flower in a pot, or work on landscaping the yard
- Practice a new sport; Frisbee, Fishing, Croquette, etc.
- Go to the park and make an effort to meet a new friend
- Go on an exploratory adventure seeking different insects, birds, or plants
- Go for a walk or run
- Go star gazing at night
AROUND TOWN
- Visit local museums to learn about history
- Visit the local library to expand your imagination
- Visit the a local farm or rodeo to learn about animals
- Visit a water park to stay cool in the summer heat
- Visit a snow cone or ice cream shop to enjoy a cool treat
- Visit family and friends to enjoy each others company
